Saints from every tribe, people from

new song.
Our Lord will receive power and wisdom
and might.
To God be blessings and honor and glory
forever. Amen.
*OPENING HYMN NO.
462 Christ, Whose Glory Fills the Skies
*PRAYER OF
CONFESSION
God of love and mercy, it makes us sad
and angry when people don’t believe us or do the things we think are
important. It also makes you sad when we claim to believe but don’t act in
obedience to your call. You want us to take care of your sheep, to love one
another, and to acknowledge your place in our hearts and lives. Forgive us
when we fall short and neglect the things that are most important to you.
Help us to renew our dedication to serving you and loving our neighbors. In
Christ’s name we pray. Amen.
*RESPONSE: HYMN NO.
572 Lord, Have Mercy Upon Us
*ASSURANCE OF PARDON
(from Psalm 23)
The Lord
is my shepherd, and leads me along the right path.
Even
though I walk through the valley of death, I fear no evil.
Surely
goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life.
And I
shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
*Gloria Patri, P. 579
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,
and to the Holy Ghost;
As it
was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
