WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
VOLUNTARY Christ Be Beside
Me Don Wyrtzen
(Please sign and pass the registers)
CALL TO WORSHIP (from Psalm
27) Donna
Quillen, Liturgist
The
Lord is my light and salvation, whom shall I fear?
The
Lord is my stronghold, why should I be afraid?
One
thing I ask, that I might live in the house of the Lord forever.
We
ask that we might sing and make melody before the Lord.
*OPENING HYMN NO. 282 If
Thou but Trust in God to Guide Thee
*PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Almighty God, you have called us to walk along your path, but we are
too often content to merely talk about it. You have called us to be
citizens of heaven, but we have fallen in love with the things of
the world. Forgive us for our false friendships and our temporary
faith. Grant us wisdom and strength, that we might truly follow in
the footsteps of your Son, who gave himself so that we might know of
your great love. In Christ’s name we pray. Amen.
*RESPONSE: HYMN NO. 572
Lord, Have Mercy Upon Us
*ASSURANCE OF PARDON
(from Psalm 27)
Do
not turn your servants away in anger, O Lord.
Do
not forsake us, O God of our salvation.
Hear us Lord, answer our cries and teach us your ways.
We believe that we shall see the goodness of the
Lord.
*Gloria
Patri, P. 579
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost;
As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be,
world without end. Amen.

God
so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whoso
