I give you thanks,
with all my heart.
We sing your praise
before all the world.
I give thanks for your
steadfast love and faithfulness.
All the rulers of
the earth will sing your praise.
*OPENING HYMN
NO. 336 As a Chalice Cast of Gold
This is a new hymn for
us. The choir will sing the first stanza, then everyone will sing
the hymn together, beginning again with the first stanza.
*PRAYER OF
CONFESSION
God of love and
mercy, hear us as we confess our sin. You call us to follow but we
are reluctant to leave our old lives behind. We want to make our own
path and call it yours. We claim that our words are your words.
Forgive our arrogance and our pride. Remind us of our weakness and
fill us with your Holy Spirit. Empower us to throw our nets over the
side and trust in you to respond. In Christ’s name we pray. Amen.
*RESPONSE:
HYMN NO. 572 Lord Have Mercy Upon Us
*ASSURANCE OF
PARDON (from Psalm 138)

When we called out
for help, you answered.
You stretch out your
hand and deliver us.
Your steadfast love endures
forever. Amen

Invitation Craig Courtney
Text: Pamela
Martin
Come, if you are
lonely; my door is open wide.
All of you are
welcome; come and step inside.
Enter with My
blessing; no one is denied.
Come, sit at My table;
come, sit by My side.
Come, if you are
thirsty; I will pour the wine.
If you hunger, take
this bread; sit with Me and dine.
Ev’ry weary trav’ler,
ev’ry troubled soul,
Rest for just a moment
and leave the table whole.
The feast I spread
before you, the cup that we will share,
The bread we’ll break
together, I’ve lovingly prepared.
*Doxology,
P. 592

INVITATION TO THE LORD’S TABLE
tHE COMMUNION PRAYER AND THE LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father, who art
in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come,
thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread
and forgive us our
debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power,
and the glory, forever. Amen.
the sanctus
Holy, Holy, Holy Lord

are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest.
Blessed is he who
comes in the name of the Lord.
Hosanna in the
highest. Hosanna in the highest.
WORDS OF INSTITUTION
SHARING THE BREAD AND CUP
It is the practice of
this congregation to partake individually of the bread and to hold
the cup in order to partake of it as a community. By so doing, we
affirm that Holy Communion has meaning to us both as individuals and
as a community of believers.
