nation and gathers the outcasts.
Great is our Lord
and abundant in power and understanding.
Sing to the Lord with
joyous thanksgiving.
Let us make a
joyous melody to our God.
*OPENING HYMN NO. 255 Now Praise
the Lord
*PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Loving and most
merciful God, forgive us when we fail to follow your ways; when we
depend only upon ourselves and forget that we need you and your
never ending love. Remind us that we are never alone and help us too
choose wisely the paths we walk. Help us to protect and defend the
traditions and values you have taught us. Let us also look to the
future with love and confidence. Fill us with your Holy Spirit, that
we might hear your voice calling each of us by name. This we pray in
the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

*ASSURANCE OF PARDON (from Psalm 147)
