*CALL TO
WORSHIP (from Psalm 85)
Amy Woods, Liturgist Let us hear
what God will speak. Surely salvation is at hand
We will turn our
hearts to God and the glory of God will dwell in our land.
Steadfast love and
faithfulness will meet; righteousness and peace will greet
with a kiss.
The Lord will give
us what is good and our land will yield its increase.
*OPENING
HYMN NO. 482 Praise Ye the Lord, the Almighty
*PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Almighty and all
knowing God, You know that we long to be faithful and do what is
right, but we fall short of your goals and our own expectations. We
lose heart and become fearful. Forgive us and help us to be
courageous in our efforts to follow you. Strengthen us to love our
enemies and welcome the outsiders. Fill us with such love that we
will encourage those who are weak. Keep us coming back to you and to
your persistent love. In Christ’s name we pray. Amen.
*RESPONSE:
HYMN NO. 572 Lord, Have Mercy Upon Us
*ASSURANCE
OF PARDON (from Psalm 85)
You forgave the iniquity of your
people and pardoned their sin
You withdrew your
wrath and restored fortune to the land.
Restore us again, O
Lord, and grant us your salvation.
Then we will see
your steadfast love and rejoice in you.
*Gloria Patri, P. 579
Glory be to the Father, and to
the Son, and to the Holy Ghost;
As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be,
world without end. Amen.

ANTHEM
Awake, Awake to Love and Work
Christopher Gale
Awake, awake to love
and work, the lark is in the sky.
The fields are wet
with diamond dew, the worlds awake to cry
Their blessing on the
Lord of life, as he goes meekly by.
Come, let thy voice be
one with theirs, shout with their shout of praise;
See how the giant sun
soars up, great Lord of years and days!
So let the love of
Jesus come and set thy soul ablaze.
To give and give, and
give again, what God hath given thee;
To spend thyself nor
count the cost, to serve right gloriously
The God who gave all
worlds that are, and all that are to be.
