mighty deeds of our Lord.

You are the God who
works wonders.
*OPENING HYMN NO. 210 Our God, Our Help in
Ages Past
*PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Almighty and most
merciful God, we forget the joy of being in your service and your
presence. There are so many distractions in the world and we want to
enjoy our share of the fun. Forgive us when we make excuses and
choose not to follow in the footsteps of your Son. Help us to see
the vision that you have in mind for us. Fill us with your Holy
Spirit, that we might recognize the value of reaching out to our
neighbors in need, making good choices in your name. Let us never
turn our backs on your love. In Christ’s name we pray. Amen.
*RESPONSE: HYMN NO. 572 Lord, Have Mercy
Upon Us
*ASSURANCE OF PARDON (from Psalm 77)
Has the steadfast love of God
ceased?
Has God forgotten
to be gracious?
You led your people
like a flock.
With your strong
arm, you have redeemed your people.
*Gloria
Patri, P. 579
Glory be to the
Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost;
As it was in the beginning, is
now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
