*CALL TO WORSHIP (from Psalm 118)
Andy Smith, Liturgist
Give thanks to the Lord for he is good.
The
steadfast love of the Lord endures forever.
Let
every land and nation acknowledge the steadfast love of the Lord.
The
Lord is our strength and has become our salvation.
*OPENING HYMN NO. 88 All Glory, Laud, and Honor
*PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Almighty and eternal God, your precious Son entered Jerusalem to die
for our sins. We confess that we have not hailed you as our ruler,
nor gone before you into the world with praise. The same Jesus we
welcome today we will jeer in a few days. For brief faith that fades
in time of trouble; for hopes we parade but do not pursue, have
mercy on us. Give us such trust in your power and your love that we
may live as your true disciples and boldly tell of your loving
power. This we pray in the name of the one who comes in the name of
the Lord. Hosanna.
*RESPONSE: HYMN NO. 572 Lord, Have Mercy Upon Us
*ASSURANCE OF PARDON (from Psalm 118)
Out
of our distress we called out to the Lord.
The
Lord answered us and stands beside us.
We
shall not die but we shall live for the Lord.
We shall give thanks and tell of the deeds of our
God.
Gloria Patri,
P.
579
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost;
As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be,
world without end. Amen.
