VOLUNTARY             “Allegro con spirito” from Sonata in D Major, K 311               W.A. Mozart

ANTHEM                                 Create In Me a Clean Heart, O God                          Carl F. Mueller

                                                             Text: Psalm 51:10-13

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from thy presence, and take not thy holy spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation, and uphold me with thy free spirit. Then will I teach transgressors thy ways, and sinners shall be converted unto thee.

VOLUNTARY   Invention in D Minor         Tom Hewson

      Rebecca Willie, violin; Anne Thurmond, clarinet

Offertory ANTHEM             Let Us Break Bread Together                                    John Helgen

Kyrie eleison, Christie eleison, Kyrie eleison.

(Lord have mercy, Christ have mercy, Lord have mercy.)

Let us break bread together on our knees.

When I fall on my knees, with my face to the rising sun,

O Lord, have mercy on me.

Let us drink wine together on our knees.

When I fall on my knees, with my face to the rising sun,

O Lord, have mercy on me.

Let us praise God together on our knees.

When I fall on my knees, with my face to the rising sun,

O Lord, have mercy on me.

ANTHEM                                         God So Loved the World                                      John Stainer

God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whoso believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved.

*CLOSING HYMN                              Jerusalem, Jerusalem

February 21st

ANTHEM                                             O Love, How Deep                                   Bradley Ellingboe

Oh, love, how deep, how broad, how high, beyond all thought and fantasy,

That God the Son of God should take our mortal form for mortals’ sake!

For us baptized; for us he bore his holy fast and hungered sore;

For us temptation sharp he knew; for us the tempter overthrew!

For us he rose from death again; for us he went on high to reign;

For us he sent his Spirit here to guide, to strengthen, and to cheer.

All glory to our Lord and God for love so deep, so high, so broad;

The Trinity whom we adore forever and forevermore!

ANTHEM                                              Be Thou My Vision                                          Bob Chilcott

                                                           Virginia Lovellette, solo

Be thou my vision, O Lord of my heart,

Be all else but naught to me, save that thou art;

Be thou my best thought in the day and the night,

Both waking and sleeping, thy presence my light.

Be thou my wisdom, be thou my true word;

Be thou ever with me, and I with thee, Lord;

Be thou my great Father, and I thy true son;

Be thou in me dwelling, and I with thee one.

Be thou and thou only the first in my heart;

O Sovereign of heaven, my treasure thou art;

Great heart of my heart, whatever befall,

Still be thou my vision, O Ruler of all.

Offertory ANTHEM            A Communion Invitation            Craig Courtney
                                                        Text: Pamela Martin

Come, if you are lonely; my door is open wide.

All of you are welcome; come and step inside.

Enter with My blessing; no one is denied.

Come, sit at My table; come, sit by My side.

Come, if you are thirsty; I will pour the wine.

If you hunger, take this bread; sit with Me and dine.

Ev’ry weary trav’ler, ev’ry troubled soul,

Rest for just a moment and leave the table whole.

The feast I spread before you, the cup that we will share,

The bread we’ll break together, I’ve lovingly prepared.

ANTHEM                                    God of Great and God of Small                               Natalie Sleeth

God of great and God of small, God of one and God of all,

God of weak and God of strong, God to whom all things belong,

Alleluia, alleluia, Lord we praise Your name.

God of land and sky and sea, God of life and destiny,

God of never ending  pow’r, yet beside me ev’ry hour,

Alleluia, alleluia, Lord we praise Your name.

God of silence, God of sound, God in whom the lost are found,

God of day and darkest night, God whose love turns wrong to right,

God of heav’n and God of earth, God of death and God of birth,

God of now and days before, God who reigns forevermore,

Alleluia, alleluia, Lord we praise Your name.

ANTHEM                                           Many Gifts, One Spirit                                            Alan Pote

Many gifts, one spirit; many songs, one voice.

Many reasons, one promise; many questions, one choice.

O God, we pray for unity; give guidance from above.

In our differences unite us in the circle of your love.

O God, remind us we are not alone.

Though we move on diff’rent pathways, we are walking to your throne.

Help us learn to love each other; show us ways to understand.

We are members of one family, growing strong by joining hands.

Take our many ways of working; blend the colors of each soul

Into the beauty of a rainbow. Give us life, Lord, make us whole.

VOLUNTARY                                    From a Distant Home                              Emma Lou Diemer

            From a distant home the Savior we come seeking,

            Using as our guide the star, so brightly beaming.

ANTHEM                               O Morning Star, How Fair and Bright                        Paul Thurmond

O Morning Star, how fair and bright

Thou beamest forth in truth and light!

O Sovereign meek and lowly!

Thou root of Jesse, David’s Son,

My Lord and Savior, Thou hast won

My heart to serve Thee solely!

Thou art holy, fair and glorious,

All-victorious, rich in blessing,

Rule and might o’er all possessing.

Thou heavenly brightness! Light divine!

O deep within my heart now shine,

And make Thee there an altar!

Fill me with joy and strength to be

Thy member, ever joined to Thee

In love that cannot falter!

Toward Thee longing doth possess me;

Turn and bless me; Here in sadness

Eye and heart long for Thy gladness!
